What is The Masters?

 

THE MASTERS is a unique international English language competition for students aged between 16 and 18 years and enroled in High School. Schools are invited to  take part in an innovative international competition, to design and develop a product and then pitch their ideas to a panel of industry leaders.

 

THE PROGRAMME

 

Students will have to work together as a team and consider all elements of the business world including: their target market, product design, company branding, costs, sales and marketing, strategy and global market fluctuations.

 

Throughout the course students will divide their time between completing Modules and working with their team to create their product and their pitch ready for the Grand Dragons.

 

THE MODULES

 

The Modules are taught by qualified EFL teachers who have a background in business, they will include:

 

  • COMPANY BRANDING AND PROFILES IN THE GLOBAL ECONOMY
  • PRODUCT DESIGN
  • FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING
  • MARKETING
  • LEADERSHIP AND ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOUR
  • HOW TO PITCH TO THE GRAND DRAGONS

 

These Modules give students the opportunity to innovate, create and gain an insight into the world of business in an ever changing and developing worldwide market, by using real life scenarios and company profiles to explore the global economy.

 

THE CHALLENGE

 

At the start of the competiton each team of students will be briefed about the product they need to design, develop and market.

 

By the end of the 2 weeks each school will be required to make a 10 – 15 minute pitch in front of all other schools and Grand Dragons. The pitch will draw on what they have learnt and experienced within the course aswell as their own ideas about their product.

 

EXCURSIONS AND FULL DAY TRIPS

 

The programme will include a number of full day and half day excursions to give students both the opportunity to visit some of the most famous sites in England and Paris, as well as educational trips to gain a greater insight into the modern business world and global economy.
